School Administration
Dr. Oliver-Eggert earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Canisius College of Buffalo, a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision, and doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia. Dr. Oliver-Eggert brings 24 years of administrative and teaching experience, which includes 4 years previously served as a teacher at Lightfoot Elementary School. Prior to Oliver-Eggert’s selection as principal of LGES, she served as principal and assistant principal at the elementary and middle school levels in Alexandria City and Greene County Public Schools.
Dr. Oliver-Eggert resides in Fredericksburg with her husband and one of her adult children. She is a huge sports fan and loves the Virginia Cavaliers, NY Yankees and Giants, and the Buffalo Bills. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, golfing, and attending sporting events.

Sonya Walsh has previously served in the positions of director of secondary education, director of instruction, supervisor of professional development, supervisor of instruction, instructional technology coach, and teacher in sixth grade and most recently as a kindergarten teacher at Locust Grove Primary School from January to May 2023. She has 18 years of experience, serving in Fredericksburg City Public Schools with a bachelor's degree in elementary education PreK - 6, and middle education 6-8 History/ Social Sciences endorsement in 2005. Ms. Walsh earned a master's degree in curriculum & instruction and in 2018, completed the qualifications for an educational leadership endorsement for an administrative career.
Ms. Walsh is from the Erie / Pittsburgh area and grew up in a small town between the two cities in Pennsylvania. She has two sons who will be attending LGP/E and her family has resided in Orange County for the past 9 years. She and her family enjoy swimming, biking, campfires, movie nights, and baseball. She also enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and coffee.
